Exploring Seattle

Out and About In Seattle

Coffee, seafood, rain and the space needle. All of these pop into our brains when we think of Seattle, WA. And as good as these are—yes, rain is good when you’ve got a cozy RV rental to sleep in—there is so much more! So choose your RV park or campground and catch the bus or light rail system to downtown Seattle, WA and get ready for fun times!

We’ll start at the waterfront, right on the Puget Sound. The Pike Place Market is perhaps the most well-known shopping area in Seattle. Local craftsmen, farmers and grocers compete for your attention, along with fish-throwing seafood vendors. Have you ever had a desire to see an entire wall covered with used bubble gum? Hop down below the market—you can’t miss it! There isn’t much that you can’t find at the Pike Place Market!

Also on the waterfront is the Seattle, WA Aquarium, a beautiful and educational experience for the whole family. Along with shopping and numerous restaurants, there is also the Seattle Great Wheel, sure to bring gorgeous views of Seattle and the Puget Sound, as well as a few squeals!

Seattle Center, the site for the 1962 World’s Fair, is an iconic place to visit. Home of the Space Needle, the Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Garden and Glass Art Gallery and the Museum of Pop Culture—there is something for everyone! Whether or not you dine in the Space Needle, it’s worthwhile to take the trip up and see the views of beautiful Seattle, WA! There are also numerous tasty meal venues in the food court, and fun rides in the summer months.

If you’re in the mood for some upscale shopping, downtown Seattle is sure to please, with the Westlake Center and Pacific Place. If its art that you’re interested in, be sure to check out the Seattle Art Museum. Fine dining and more coffee shops than you can count are sprinkled throughout the entire city. Are you ready for a break? Head back to your RV rental and put up your feet for a while!

The famous Woodland Park Zoo is just north of Seattle, WA, and its beautiful exhibits are so worth the short drive. Close by is Greenlake, in case you feel like stretching your legs and taking a jog on the paved trail around the lake or renting a paddle boat or kayak to get out on the water. The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are also close by, as well as Gas Works Park, Alki Beach and the stunning Washington Park Arboretum.

So stay for the day, or the week. There is plenty to do in Seattle, WA, all from the comfort of your RV rental!

Urban RV-ing Secrets

It’s no secret that RVs can be intimidating due to their size, and one certainly must be careful when navigating Seattle’s city streets and store parking lots in an RV Rental, but this does not mean you have to stay away from the city, or hesitate to visit the attractions you most want to see. Remember, most of these streets are frequently driven by delivery trucks, fire engines and even tractor-trailer rigs on a daily basis!

A little common sense, a dose of caution and a bit of thoughtful planning will allow you to safely visit everywhere you want to go, and return your RV Rental in one piece.

Suppose you want to visit Seattle’s Pike Place Market? Sure, the market itself may not be the ideal place to drive a rented motorhome, but a little research will show quite a number of nearby parking areas only a short walk away. And when you’re done watching the fish fly (don’t ask, just go watch!) and you’ve had your fill of coffee and pastries, that short walk back to your RV will be just the thing to help you digest that sublime Seattle lunch!

Not sure if the parking lot at your intended destination is RV friendly? 5 minutes on Google maps satellite view will help you to formulate a safe and efficient entry and exit plan, or may just help you to find a grocery store or other parking lot a short walk from your destination. Planning ahead and doing a bit of research, you will find there’s nearly always a place in Seattle where you can safely park your RV rental reasonably close to your intended destination.

So don’t be timid! Yes, do be thoughtful, careful and prepared, but then go BOOK YOUR RV RENTAL and make your plans to enjoy the best that Seattle has to offer!

Oh the Places You Can Go from Seattle, WA

Are you ready to ditch the city and bring your RV rental out into the beautiful wilds of Washington state? The only question is, where to go first? There’s so much to see in this beautiful state, all from the comfort of your RV rental!

Maybe first on your list should be one of the many islands and peninsulas you can easily reach from Seattle. The Washington state ferry system is a delightful way to get across the Puget Sound, and may just surprise you with a pod of Killer Whales, seals, and even a dolphin or two! Most ferries can accommodate your RV rental, but do visit their website, plan ahead, and give yourself a little extra time for boarding the ferry.

The Olympic Peninsula, encompassing the Hoh Rainforest, the Olympic Mountains and the coastal beaches along the Pacific Ocean is a truly stunning and satisfying place to vacation. There is truly no place like it on earth. Hiking, biking and fishing amongst jaw-dropping scenery awaits you, all only two hours from Seattle, WA. Charming towns like Poulsbo, Port Townsend and Kingston dot the Hood Canal, all with great restaurants and fun shops. Consider driving your RV rental up to the sweet town of Anacortes and catch the ferry to visit the stunning San Juan Islands, catch a whale-watching trip and see the Orcas, or drive to the top of Hurricane Ridge and play in the snow in the middle of summer!

If it’s mountains you’re craving, the iconic Mt. Rainier National Park is only a two-hour drive from Seattle, WA. Meander among the wildflower meadows or hike to the top, knowing you can put your feet up in your luxury motorhome rental at the end of the day! Mt. St. Helens is also a worthy trip to take, especially for volcano buffs. The entire Cascade Mountain range is filled with hiking trails, rivers to fish or raft, lakes to swim in and campgrounds galore.

Frequently Asked Questions

NW Adventure Rentals is the premier RV rental agency in the Seattle area for the following reasons:

  • We offer late model, luxury rental RVs that are fully (and we mean FULLY) furnished.
  • Our rental units are sparkling clean, sanitized and meticulously maintained for your rental.
  • Your RV rental will not have advertising graphics all over it, you’re renting an RV, not a billboard!
  • We have skin in the game – unlike a private individual with one RV on one of those RV rental websites, we won’t change our mind and leave you stranded. We’ll make sure your rental vacation goes off without a hitch (unless you’re renting a trailer, then we’ll include the hitch!)

Our rental units come with the following equipment:

  • Cookware – pots and pans, cookie sheet, knife set, French press coffee maker, toaster, tea kettle
  • Kitchenware – utensils, dishes, measuring cups, cutting board, wine-bottle opener, oven mitts
  • Bedding, kitchen and bath towels, dish soap & sponge, Lysol & paper towels, broom & dust pan
  • Wheel chocks, sewer hose, fresh water hose, pressure regulator, electrical adapter
  • It’s all included, we did our best to think of everything you might need for your RV Rental adventure!

Absolutely! We wouldn’t want to leave Fido home, and neither should you. We only ask that your pet treat the RV with care, and that you take responsibility for any damage or cleanliness issues that may arise. But this is rarely a problem, and dogs love an RV rental adventure almost as much as you do.

At NW Adventure Rentals, the answer is… Great!! Did you know that most of our fleet is privately owned? Through our Leaseback Program, we will rent out your RV and share the rental revenue with you, the owner. We provide free storage, we’ll furnish the RV and insure it (our insurance covers you as well) and we’ll manage all maintenance needs. You get to use the RV whenever you want, and when you’re not using it, you’ll be earning money! Visit our Leaseback Section to learn more.

RV rentals and Travel Trailer rentals each have their distinct advantages. Renting an RV instead of a travel trailer is generally more maneuverable, and also does not require you to own a tow vehicle. You can pull into a rest area and use the kitchen or restroom without going outside, and kids can sit at the table with seatbelts and be entertained while you are driving. A travel trailer rental, on the other hand, offers the ability to park the trailer at your campsite and use the tow vehicle to get around more easily than a sometimes cumbersome RV.

Your RV Rental needs will vary depending on how many people you are bringing, and where you plan to go. If there are two people who plan to go skiing in the mountains, you might consider one of our smaller, all-wheel-drive campervan rentals. On the other hand, a long road-trip with four kids might call for renting a Class A motorhome with plenty of space. Remember, dinnertime and bedtime are when your RV rental will feel most crowded, and however large the motorhome feels when you pick it up, it is bound to shrink once everyone is milling about inside.

Many of our RV Rental customers fly to Seattle from out of state. You can fly to Seattle Tacoma International Airport, or better yet, see if you can get a flight to Paine Field in Everett, WA, a smaller, less crowded airport that is closer to our RV rental store. Either way, the best solution for most people is to use Uber or Lyft to get to our RV Rental facility from the airport. Your motorhome rental will be eagerly waiting for you!
